STORM LITTERS PAST FRIENDS FLYWAY OUTDOORS |

Trails End® Goldens is based in Central Wisconsin and established in 1999.
I found Field Golden Retrievers to be excellent hunting companions, always willing to do whatever it takes to please you. Their stylish efforts make them a great choice for those interested in waterfowl or upland hunting, hunt tests, field trials, agility and everyday pets and also for those who are looking for something other than a Labrador. They also make great family dogs.
I am a Golden Retriever training hobbyist. This is not a professional kennel I train my Goldens for hunting and hunt tests simply out of the enjoyment I get out of it and have a litter maybe once every two years. Stud services provided on a individual basis.
About Me
I grew up waterfowl and grouse hunting in Northern Wisconsin starting in the late 70's at 12 years old, always without the aid of a dog. I had a golden from when I was born until she died when I was 9. After that, my folks never got another pet, so when I started hunting, it was always without the aid of a gun dog. In 1999 he decided to change that and bought my first Golden Retriever "Montana. She was a great partner, and I worked with her training daily, however my training skills and experience were obviously lacking. I searched around for others in my area to train with, which led to us creating the Muddy Waters Retriever Club in Central Wisconsin. This in turn helped me meet others with the same passion and also to help me train my dog and visa-versa.
Eventually I became involved in running hunt tests, mostly UKC/HRC hunt tests where I got to meet even more experienced people that helped my training knowledge grow. Eventually after running tests for awhile, I decided to give back to the sport that taught me so much and became a UKC/HRC retriever hunt test judge. I have such a good time judging dogs and learn something new each time by just watching people as they handle their dogs, and also from other judges I am partnered with.
Currently I am training my 4th Golden and each dog progresses further than the last. Learning from past mistakes and gaining knowledge along the way has helped me become a better trainer and handler. In addition to better training and handling, I've also striven to look for better breeding in my Goldens. My current Male "Storm" is my best achievement to date and he never ceases to amaze me in the field. We will never be perfect, but that's why we train every day. A good friend told me this and it's what I live by with training my dogs: If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got" The meaning is self explanatory.
After hunting over my Golden's for the past 9 years, I can't imagine what life would be like without one. I enjoy them that much.
My newest addition "Autumn" is just a pup, but I look forward to the journey with her as well.
